Secondment in Groningen
I visited Groningen for my first secondment in November. The main objective was to produce samples with Alan and perform tracer-based NMR back in Birmingham. We generated those samples but I also got the chance to learn other techniques such as lentivirus production, flow cytometry, cord blood isolations, etc. I participated in their weekly seminars, meetings and journal club and I had very useful discussions with JJ, Alan and Aysegul. It was really nice to see how the group works and get new perspectives on the project.
Apart from working in the lab, I also had time to visit the city, have an amazing steak, go to the cinema and have drinks with the whole group. I had a great time!
I would like to thank JJ and his group for welcoming me and I am looking forward to my next secondment.
